It is wise to check with this list first before you try to contact us. Not that we don't love to answer
your emails. But it's simply faster to read the answer here. And fact is, 90% of all questions
are covered here.
Question 1
How does the download/registration process work?
Once you ready to get a shareware license, you first select the modules and you provide a valid email
address and the name the modules should be registered at. You will then be transfered to PayPal where
you do the payment (no need to become a member there, just enter your credit card details). After that,
you continue back to our site which will show you your codes. For safety, we always send out an registration
email containing the same codes.
Question 2
Do I need to pay before I can try/test the screensavers?
Hell, no! We encourage you to download and test them before you pay. That way, you know what you
are paying for and nobody will get disappointed. The unregistered version is the same as the registered
one except that you get an ugly orange box after 30 seconds of usage every time the screensaver starts.
Question 3
What should I do with the Screensaver Engine / What should I do with the Screensaver Module?
Engine and Modules work together. You cannot use only one of them. The preferred way of use is to
first download the engine and read the documentation that comes with the download. Then download
one or more modules and install them according to the documentation.
Question 4
Where do I get the registration code for the new 2.1 version?
Fill in your email at the top of this page.
Question 5
My old LOOPS screensaver codes won't work! Is this a free update?
LOOPS v2.0 is not a free update and the old screensavers won't work with the new engine. Those who
bought licenses after the 13th November 2004 can email us and will get new licenses for free.
Please note, you can still use your old LOOPS screensavers because the coexist nicely with the 2.0
version. You won't get the new features or video quality though.
Question 6
My screensaver is not registered! It shows an orange screen after about 30 seconds of play. What
should I do?
You need to register the screensaver with your codes you got. Go to the System Preferences
and select "Desktop & Screen Saver". Then choose the LOOPS screensaver from the list if not already
selected and click on "Options". This brings you to the configuration screen. There, you click on the
screensaver in the list and you can enter your name and code into the fields to the right.
If your custom made modules show the orange shareware screen, you need to get a "Foreign Screensaver" license from
us. With that code, you register a single foreign screensaver and it will unlock all current and future
foreign modules.
Question 7
My screensavers don't play smooth when played on two screens at the same time. Why?
Playing fullscreen video on two screens requires quite some CPU power. If your Mac is too slow, you
might consider switching off one screen at the LOOPS preference panel.
Question 8
Do you only support PayPal for paying?
Yes. Anything else proofed to be unreliable and we never got anything from people trying to send us money via
letters.
Question 9
Why are the downloads so big? I can easily compress video of the same length to only a few MB!
Fine. Try to play it full screen on two screens on an average Mac (i.e. a fast iBook or even a 12" G4 PB) and
if you can get it to work we will hire you to compress our video.
Question 10
My Mac doesn't go to sleep when the screensaver is active!
That's because Apple has added this "feature" to Quicktime. We use Quicktime to play our video and thus your
Mac won't go to sleep. Sorry, nothing we can do here.
Question 11
I love the screensavers! Can I get a T-Shirt with the LOOPS logo?
Of course. We made a few so just email us.
